A friend is traveling to Paris, France to stay for 2-5 days. He's a Bahamian citizen, which seems to indicate he'll need a visa for sure. Here's the twist: he's en route, and may have only a day to try to get any paperwork taken care of. Does he stand a chance of getting a visa through, or should he turn back now? The US French Consulate does not give out visa information by phone, and I've trying contacting Customs and the Police at Charles De Gaulle Airport (+33 1 48 62 31 22). Unfortunately, I don't speak French, and the phone system seems to be unforgiving.

I'm in Paris (4e arrondissement) with my husband and our clingy 20-month old baby. No car. We're going to a farmer's market tomorrow, and plan to do a walking-around-looking-at-street-art/graffiti tour but need further ideas. Bonus points for minimal crowds, fun run-around room for baby, but with the possibility of really good coffee for mom and dad.
