What's the best resort in Cuba for an adult and a 5 year old. I don't want "kids club" (i.e. babysitting) I do want kid-suitable amenities including water-park like pools, calm accessible beach, good food. [more inside]

A friend and I (U.S. citizens) have booked flights and an Airbnb for a six-day stay in Havana, Cuba, in November. I was confident that I understood the U.S. regulations regarding Cuba visitation, but my friend is getting pushback from her family about our trip. We would like to go to Havana on the person-to-person license, which one does not have to apply for anymore. Apparently you just have to have a self-made itinerary that you can show to the US when coming home. We want to go cheaply, flying independently on one of the new flights from NYC to Havana, and staying at an Air BnB while we are in Havana. [more inside]

(previously, 2005). Looks like a trip to Cuba will in fact go down in September. Cursory research indicates that the cell network there is GSM and that there is no US roaming in place (not a shock). Any pointers, tips, useful links? [more inside]
