We are about to head out on a trip to the northern Adriatic. Yeah, I know. Bummer, eh? I think we have most of the highlights covered, but I'm having trouble finding local music. We would love to go to bars or restaurants in Trieste and Ljubljana where there is live music, preferable local folk music. In Istria, we will be in Buje and Rovijn for couple nights each, as well. Please let us know about the cool places we could go. Also, if there are some must-sees of any type in these cities, we would welcome the suggestions!

I am planning a romantic getaway, anywhere within a ~4-hour drive from San Francisco is fair game. We'd really like to have a private hot tub big enough for two, or a very nice soaking tub, or both. Indoor or outdoor options are fine for either--they just need to be private, not shared facilities. Where are the finest baths in the land? Hotels, resorts, cottages, & cabins are preferred over AirBnB, but will consider anywhere for very nice baths. [more inside]

Help us get into Albania! My partner and I will be in the Balkans at the end of the month, and would like to go south to Albania but I'm having trouble finding a way in. Apparently there are no trains into the country. Are there buses? Taxis? Ferries? Is it easier to go via Kosovo? [more inside]

Anyone traveled in Albania recently? I'm looking to bicycle through the country in late April / early May (from Greece to Italy), and I'll be sticking to the coast. How is the road from Saranda to Vlora? It seems extremely mountainous and somewhat sketchy from the map...what do you think - bicyclable? [more inside]
