FCKing Editor

I'm having trouble using FCKeditor to insert images in Wordpress posts. Can anyone help?

I installed FCKeditor as the default editor in Wordpress. The blog owner is not too keen on using HTML, so I saw this as the best option. FCKeditor seems to work fine, except there are problems when trying to insert images.

I click on the Insert/Edit Image button, and the option window pops up. If I select the upload image tab and upload an image from there, it uploads the image to the correct uploads folder but all that displays is a broken image "?" icon.

Also, if I try to browse the server, I'm stuck in the / directory which displays as empty; no other files or directories are shown.

What am I to do? Is this a common problem? Am I missing something obvious?

WordPress ships with TinyMCE as a visual editor, integrated into its native functions. I don't know what version of WP you're using, but I recommend using the default editor to eliminate these kinds of hassles - especially in the latest (2.5) version of WordPress, TinyMCE is pretty feature packed for folks who are comfortable with Word and other such programs.

i am on the new version of wordpress so going on memory here.

but is it something to do with the fact your install believes the uploads folder is

http://domain.com/uploads/

and its actually

http://domain.com/blog/uploads

This would allow the file to be uploaded but you would get the ? when trying to display. Unfortunately i cannot remember which setting screen this option comes under i think its something like default configuration.
