How did Alan Greenspan go from This gold standard lovin Randian, to the chairman of the federal reserve board?

What happened between the writting of that essay in 1966 and his tenure as the chairman?

What transpired during that chunk of time that caused him to flip flop?

has his philosophy changed? how? why?

Ive always wondered this.

Now, now, q....what you may not know is that Greenspan was actually a touring, be-bopping, reefer-smokin' jazz musician through the 1940s.

(The part about the reefers? Pure conjecture.)
