computer music question involving Orion and NI Kontakt

I am using Orion Pro as my host studio software and running NI Kontakt 2 as a VSTi sampler.

Is it possible for me to get it to run a multi instrument? Basically I want to load a piano and a flute and have them playing different melodies. I can see where I can set different output channels for both instruments, but cannot see if its possible to set up two inputs for each to read.

Am I completely barking up the wrong tree??

Please help

I use Cubase SX to make music so can't really comment on Orion though I'm sure what you want to do is possible.
You're best bet is to go here...

you should get a lot of help you need there because they have a dedicated support forum for Orion.

Have you tried loading multiple instances of the Kontakt player? That is what I do using Cubase and Finale with VSTs/Kontakt. Not sure how you would do it in Orion as I've never used it.

I don't have kontakt but I was under the impression you could assign different sounds to different midi note ranges -- presumably this in combination with some transposing might do what you want?

I think this can be done, but I'm at work, so I don't have a copy of Orion handy.

Having said that, if you've got the CPU power spare, you'd probably be best off with two instances of kontact, especially once it comes to the mixer.

Response by poster: Thanks guys

I'm going to have a go at advil's suggestion, not too sure though. I had thought about running multiple instances of the vsti but had thought that would just suck all the juice out of my computer, plus it seemed a shame to not make use of the functionality of the thing.

cheers
