FoundingFathersfilter: What would be considered the best biographies of James Madison and James Monroe?

I have recently entered into a kick on the Revolutionary period (Thanks to Gordon S. Wood and David Hackett Fischer). On top of this, I just visited Madison's Montpelier and have worked on a Wikipedia article on Monroe's Ash Lawn-Highland. Hence, I'm curious for a biography of both men (seperate biographies on each man, not a biography on both men). Would anyone have any suggestions for the must read biography for Madison and the must read biography for Monroe?
