Detroit Improv Festival Food and Bev Recommendations

My improv troupe is traveling next weekend to perform at the Detroit Improv Festival. I was looking for good bar and restaurant suggestions as well as a good place for a team brunch on Saturday morning. We'll be staying in Southfield and performing in Ferndale. We'll have transportation available to us.
There will be six of us total and I'd say the majority of tastes run towards the casual for this trip but we wouldn't want to miss a hidden gem. Bonus points for something we should see or do in the area on Friday morning/early afternoon.

There are a lot of dining and drinking options in Royal Oak, which is pretty close to both Southfield and Ferndale. I hesitate to definitely recommend anything because my reasons to visit that area disappeared and my last visit was pre-pandemic and so I don't know what may have changed.
5 years back or so, though, we used to enjoy Crispelli's (located on Woodward, reasonably priced, casual, Detroit-style pizza and a few other things in a well-run establishment with good energy) and my brother and I used to like to get Mediterranean food at Boukie's on Main St.
Neither place is fancy and I wouldn't say your visit to the area is incomplete if you miss either or both but I have enjoyed them both enough to go back to each a fair few times.

bobcat Bonnie’s is also great for brunch or happy hour.
If the weather is good, and depending on the line up, Detroit fleet has food trucks.
Further but one of my favorites is Kreuse and Muer
in Woodward.
Imperial, Public House, and One Eyed Betty’s are all fun.
Southfield is not a place that is very active after the office buildings shut down. I worked there for years and we never went out there. We went to royal oak, ferndale, or Detroit.
