Identify spare parts which came with a Drumond pump?

I bought a transfer pump to augment my home-grown gray water activities, and it came with two identical small springy contacts which aren't mentioned in any of the item's instructions. They're shown on the side of the box, see the red arrow in this scan. What are they for? Where do they go?

I believe those are spare brushes for the motor, to be used when the originals wear out.

Response by poster: Brushes or contacts, my thought as well. But where do they go? And when to replace?

Best answer: In the image of the pump the access to the brushes are to the left of the Drummond sticker. It looks like a large round grey bit that a slotted screw driver (or nickel) would unscrew.

The other side will also have the same round gray access. The only equipment I have ever replaced the bushes is on gear that lived very hard service lives of near constant use, and an angle grinder from harbor freight that I was mean to. It very easy to check on brush wear - there is no harm in popping them out and having a look. They should both wear at the same rate.
