Hotels in Birmingham (King's Heath area)?

I'm visiting Birmingham (the English one) later this year to see a gig at the Kitchen Garden at 17 York Road. I'll be walking everywhere and so would like to find accommodation fairly close to that venue. Suggestions?
I don't know the city at all or what it's public transport's like.

Check airbnbs near Moseley and kings heath - you’ll find some beautiful rooms in amazing Victorian era houses with lovely gardens! Very English country garden if you’re leaning into that! My old stomping ground it’s sooooo nice to see it on the green! It’s a very bohemian area and pretty safe and nice (in a “you’re still in a big city” kinda way. Agree with all the above commenters suggestions. Hare and Houdns Kings Heath is lovely for a drink or a gig too while you’re there. And sylhet spice on York road does a banging curry - which Birmingham is renowned for so you really should ☺️
Ohhh I’m homesick!

It's very residential in Kings Heath. You may be able to get an AirBnB in either Kings Heath or Moseley, and it's possible to walk from Kings Heath to Moseley if necessary, on a well-lit main road. There are lots of hotels in the city centre, including many reasonably priced locations and you can take the 50 bus as described, or get a taxi. Birmingham Central Backpackers in Digbeth is also close to the 50 route. If you're looking at a hotel in the city centre, somewhere closer to the Arcadian / Gay Quarter / New Street station is probably better than out towards Broad Street / Brindley Place.

I'm an Old - it's official. I didn't even think about that there newfangled AirB&B but I'm sure there are loads around KH, it's definitely that sort of place.
Depending on when and how long you're going to be around, the Red Lion in Kings Heath hosts a very long-standing folk club on Wednesday evenings - details here. They're on their summer break now but will be open again in September.

OK! On airBNB there is actually a “magical yurt” in someone’s garden you can rent!!! Hahaha if that doesn’t sum up Kings Heath these days I don’t know what does! And I love it!

There’s a premier inn at hall green, you can taxi it or catch the 11 I think. It’s cheap enough and not horribly far. Feel free to message for further info.

You can also try to stay in Solihull and take the 76 bus (or a taxi, which are found in the town centre and the rail station, or whatever you prefer):
There's a Premier Inn as well as a few other hotels.
You'll know when you get in KH from Solihull: there's a Sainsburys and there are lots of people getting on/off.

Response by poster: Thanks, everyone. I've now found an AirBnB that'll suit me nicely.

There aren't any hotels that we can think of in KH itself, but the city centre isn't very far away on the No. 50 bus (about 20 - 30 minutes ride away depending on the time of day). The service is very regular, although you should check the times for the latest buses back.
Lots of the usual chain hotels in and around the city centres, and lots of black cabs and private hires too.
Slightly closer to KH you have places like Moseley (very bohemian, nice high street, lots of pubs and cafes) and again the 50 links the two with a ride time of around 10 minutes.
Bournville (where the Cadbury factory lives) is a lovely model village built by the Quaker Cadburys. It has at least one little B&B (Bournville House and cafe) according to Bookings dot com and the village is worth a look in its own right. Again, by bus it's about 15 minutes ride away from KH (the No 11 this time). Bournville is a dry village even now, so is pretty quiet.I
We'll keep thinking - feel free to MeMail me if you have any more questions.
