Bay area couples counselor?

You all helped me find an amazing dentist, so I'm back looking for a couples counselor/therapist ideally in the Berkeley/Oakland area. Looking for someone kind who can help foster mutual understanding and better communication. Feel free to send me a Mefi Mail if that's preferable. Thanks!

I can't give you a specific suggestion but I would strongly recommend looking at the folks who are certified in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. EFT has a lot of solid research to show that it is very effective and they have high standards for becoming a certified EFT therapist. I know someone who went through this process and she said she learned so much about how to be a better therapist in the process.
