Crochet Garrison hat in adult sizes

I’m looking for a crochet pattern for a Garrison cap in adult sizes.

I can knit and crochet, but I’m guessing crochet fabric would work better for making this. The only pattern I’ve been able to find has been for a baby hat, and the “stewardess hat” pattern I found has a lot of typos. Any advice?

There's an Etsy pattern for it in fabric. Depending on your crochet skill, perhaps you could adapt the pattern? (From the way it looks, I'm pretty sure it's a task that I could do if I had the pattern on hand... personally, I'd try it in a fairly firm gauge single crochet, with acrylic, first, before hunting down wool, if that was my eventual goal.)

Going to keep looking a bit, because it's crazy to think no one has created one. (Seems like it would look super cute in a variegated yarn...)

A couple more I found.

Crochet Garrison Cap Scarf Design 7224 - Alice Brooks but no modern images of the way it looks.

Garrison Cap (but it doesn't really look like one, imo)

Stewardess Pill Box Hat is a similar style.

Here's another link to sewing patterns for several variations on garrison caps.

The ravelry crocheted Garrison cap looks better than the knitted version

Response by poster: I LOVE that pattern! But it’s baby-sized and I need something to fit my adult-sized melon.

Best answer: I’d be happy to help you figure out how to scale that ravelry pattern up if you’ve bought it and will share the pdf so I can see how it’s constructed. I can’t quite tell the stitches used on the edges. It looks like it starts with a chain and is worked along both sides, maybe in the round but maybe not? So to size it up you would start by making a chain that’s big enough to go from where you want it to start on your crown to the back of your head, and compare the stitch count to the pattern’s and multiply from there. Maybe. Depends on the pattern. You can memail me or just find me as Mizufae on discord.
