How to mount a power bank to the back of an iPhone?

The phone is an iPhone XS and the power bank is a Nitecore NB10000 (which is slim and quite a bit smaller than my phone). How do I go about this?

We have a 3D printer so my instinct would be to print a case, but double sided tape might also work.

You could tape the battery to a slim phone case so it's still removable as needed.
And you could use a very short cable with a right angle connector (first example I could find) that won't stick out so far.
There's even cables with a U-shaped bend for even less out-sticking-ness (like this but I couldn't find a short one).

As an aside, I have exactly that power bank, and it has swelled up alarmingly. I need to take it to hazmat disposal.

3M's VHB tape is second-to-none for (essentially permanently) attaching two surfaces together, I use it for a bunch of stuff. Since you're attaching two very flat surfaces together VHB 4926 might be aesthetically a little nicer (it's thinner). If you want it removable-- 3M do it with their dual-lock velcro stuff.

Can usually pick it up little pre-cut patches pretty cheap on Amazon, the rolls are more useful, but it's relatively expensive stuff.
