I want a wall-mounted iphone dock. a clock would be nice, but I don't need high quality speakers.

I don't need the speakers - what I want is a small profile, large readable digits and audio-output to connect to a nice set of external speakers.

If no real solutions, can anyone recommend a clock they like that has a flat smooth top surface, so I can glue an iphone dock to it (with aux output and charging)?

I liked the mirrored philips iphone clock (http://www.amazon.com/Philips-DC190-Docking-Clock-Radio/dp/B0028Y4H0K), but apparently no aux output, and it apparently isn't 3g compatible (shielding). Could I potentially wire an aux output myself? I have soldering experience but not in audio. If I made my own aux output, would the external speakers still make the beeping noise during data access since unshielded wires are near the phone, or would the speakers be safe since they are far away (and shielded anyway)?
