I need grippy, NOT sharp, NOT pointy, tweezers.

I have a couple old -- like from decades ago -- Revlon tweezers, and they're totally superior to anything I've managed to buy recently or that I see on Revlon's page.

I don't want tiny-edged ends that will just cut through hairs. I don't want sharp points. I want ones like my old ones: the claw being slightly angled, but with the angles blunted, nothing sharp; and a fair amount of grippy surface area at the claw end, so that even an imprecise grab can easily hold onto the hair it's more-or-less aimed at.

Have you bought ones like this recently?

Tweezerman makes lots of different tweezers. Have you checked through their line?

I have a travel set of theirs (in lovely lavender leatherette) that I like but not sure how grippy it is, as such.

(And now I can't decide whether to pronounce the company name like a super hero "Tweezer Man!" or like an old Jewish guy "Tweezerm'n.")

I was gonna say tweezerman as well. They make the best tweezers I've used. (I've been saying it tweezerm'ns for years now)

Square tip tweezers, Tweezerman, Revlon with scissor-handle, and elsewhere

I have these. They work well. I wipe/tweeze them on a towel sometimes to clean them.

I have some from Tweezer Guru that are fantastic, if you're looking for a less expensive option.

I know exactly what you mean about how hard it is to find that kind of grippy-ness now! Tweezerman “angled” models are the best I have found.

Try searching 'fish bone tweezers'

Best answer: I had this question years ago! I ended up buying vintage Revlon ones on eBay.

I do what Threeve does! I think some that I have ordered may have been copies (hard to tell if they're copies or just maybe that Revlon has had different manufacturing plants over the years) but they've all been OK.

I love the angled Tweezerman tweezers, but they seem to dull fairly quickly. Then I started thinking...if they get dull, can't they be sharpened? I bought this double-sided credit card-sized diamond file set and it's amazing how a few swipes can restore tweezers' edge and grippiness. You might be able to revive your beloved Revlon tweezers this way.

Best answer: I also have Revlon ones that were part of a nail kit I probably got for Christmas as teen and they remain the GOAT. I'd try the eBay route also if it's not too pricy.

I used to have a pair of "Sweezers" that were perfect - grippy and claw-like.

A previous AskMe revealed that they're the Revlon 2530-11, if you mean what I think you do. Unfortunately that Amazon link is out of stock, but at least it has a photo. (I agree, these are the best tweezers.)

My 'best tweezers' are the ones that come with a Swiss Army Knife! They're quite tiny so may not be what you're after, but you get great grippy precision.
