Are there any shops in Boston or Cambridge that will pay an honest dollar for decent quality jewelry?

I have some OK quality diamond earrings I'm looking to sell, and would rather do business in my first language than here in Spain. Also would rather be paid in USD.

Looking for brick and mortar store or jeweler suggestions, not Craigslist or similar. Thanks.

I was recently googling for a coin shop in Boston and came upon a store that does appraisals of coins, precious metals, and related. The base fee for appraisals was $150. I don’t know what your diamonds are worth, but getting an independent appraisal before selling will help ensure you get paid the right scale.

There are few places on Bromfield Street in Downtown Boston. I have only sold silver there, but they have set prices based on the market, and I was happy with what they gave me. I do not remember which shop I went to specifically. I did not have to pay for appraisal, and I didn't have to sell if I didn't like the price.

On Arlington Street, Firestone and Parson, very traditional --and as Winnie the Proust suggests, perhaps get an independent appraisal, or if you have the original bill of sale that'll help. They'll still lowball you as selling your jewelry is kinda painful compared to original purchase price. If the earrings are "fine diamonds," give them a call. Be prepared for some snootiness.

Diamonds are a tough sell...unless they are 4 or 5 carat in size. They are not rare in the smaller sizes...2 carat and smaller. Expect to be lowballed...You might get 40% of original purchase if lucky...Bring purchase receipt and any paperwork describing quality of the diamonds.
