Best things to do in Skiathos?

I'm headed to Skiathos, Greece in about a week to celebrate a friend's milestone birthday. Is there anything we shouldn't miss? Restaurants, museums, culture? I know the beaches are beautiful, but am not sure I can spend an entire week sitting on a beach; I love to explore and do as much as I can on vacation. Day trips that don't have to be booked too far in advance also welcome (we're already spending a day going to Lalaria Beach). Thank you!

Skopelos is very nice and it's a hop, skip and a jump away. Plus any excuse is good for a quick boat ride in that area.

Best answer: I haven't been there in too long to have any helpful info from personal experience but wanted to recommend Matt Barrett's Greece Guides on Skiathos. I've always found his site helpful and accurate for info about the islands. Have an amazing time!

Best answer: Just wanted to say Matt Barrett has a Greek travel FB group as well. It has all the normal FB group nonsense, but it was very helpful when I was planning my trip.
