Calling adult protection in Minnesota. How'd it go?

You needed to call adult protection in the state of Minnesota because your elderly/disabled relative or acquaintance seemed to be being neglected or abused. How did that go? What happened? Were you glad, in the end, you called, or the reverse? If you called because you're a mandated reporter, I am interested in your answer as well, but especially focused on loved ones' experiences and specific experiences, and am looking for Minnesota-specific answers.

This is not Minnesota specific, but common throughout the US. If you call, do NOT expect to be told the results of any investigation. You may see a visit from an adult protection worker, you may see them make efforts to conserve someone, but you should not expect a sit down with adult protection services where they tell you what they found, what they did, etc.

Also, keep in mind that adult protection services does not always protect people from their own bad choices. For instance, if an elder chooses a family caregiver who is providing sub-par care, or with whom the elder is very generous, even for sub-par care, adult protection services might not intervene since the elder's safety is not at stake.
