Is it normal that my new Saxx underwear arrived smelling like cologne?

I recently received a pair of Saxx boxer briefs as a gift. The underwear was shipped from Saxx directly. As a new pair, it came in the normal product packaging... and smelling strongly of some kind of cologne. A nice scent, but is it supposed to be there? I have two other pairs of Saxx boxer briefs, and they didn't come scented (though I got those years ago).

I bought some for my partner last year and they definitely didn’t smell like cologne. He wasn’t keen on 2 out of the 3 pairs, and so I tried to initiate a return - they just refunded the money and told me to keep them, so I bet you’d have luck getting a replacement pair.

We sell Saxx in the store I work at. Can't say I sniff men's small clothes as a hobby but I've not smelled, or heard tell of an aroma, associated with Saxx products. And that is the kind of thing bored retail workers would share.

Contact Saxx, see if they won't replace them.

Just bought two pairs of Saxx at a store, they did not smell. We did take some out of the box to look at the pattern, so someone could have handled the underwear and been wearing a lot of cologne that got on the underwear.

I have several pairs and never noticed any smell.

I found their customer service to be very good, never a problem with returns/exchanges. And 9 times out of 10 they'll tell you to keep the ones you want to return.
