Any good art shows, exhibits, or openings in NYC from now through the end of November? What have you seen that is particularly good, or what are you interested in that is opening soon?

DEATH TO THE LIVING, Long Live Trash is at the Brooklyn Museum through April, and it is fantastic. If you've never been to the Brooklyn Museum, go! There is just so much good stuff there.

There's also this Tom Sachs show that I might be checking out this week.

I'm planning to see Nick Cave's show (the artist, not the musician) at the Guggenheim after it opens 11/18.

Go see Michele Pred’s show at the Nancy Hoffman Gallery - I think it closes Friday night.

The Basquiat show is great. I’m excited to go see Alex Katz at the Guggenheim.

Follow-up-- just checked out the Tom Sachs show this morning and it was so good. It's small, about twenty pieces in three rooms, but it's right up on museum mile so if you're going to the Guggenheim/Frick/Met/Neue Gallery you'll be in the neighborhood anyway. It's one of those fancy-pants galleries, so it's not obvious where it is from the street. Super great.
