Nonprofits/think tanks creating policy to increase voter access

The news about the South Carolina GOP trying to make it more difficult to vote absentee right before the election reminds me that I have been wanting to know effective, big picture focused nonprofits/think tanks/policy orgs that are working to enable voting access. Think Koch brothers but not evil.
I have been donating my little heart out to political campaigns this season and will continue to donate and volunteer. However, aside from campaigns, are there effective organizations that are researching/lobbying for/passing
* laws that make it easier to vote
* laws that make ballots more simple
* laws that fight voter suppression/gerrymandering
that I could start supporting?
There's the ACLU but I'm wondering if there are more voting-specific groups, or specific programs you know about... Or maybe this would even be a professional organization for voting officials or something? Thanks!

The League of Women Voters has done good work for many years as well.

Response by poster: Thanks for the ideas all -- will investigate. Also would help to know if you have any knowledge of their effectiveness -- for example I read that vote.org is going through some internal weirdness

Stacey Abrams and fairfight.
In many areas you can volunteer to be a poll watcher. In my state, each party has poll watchers. Check with your town or county Dems.
I said in another ask.me, The Dems are in Oh Well, nothing we can do mode, many activists are Staying In because of Covid. I feel the Dems only know how to ask for money and channel Eeyore. I'm so pissed and frustrated.
