True Wireless Earbuds Experience?

I'm looking to buy a pair of true wireless earbuds that aren't too expensive, and after some research am thinking about either the Anker Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro or the Anker Soundcore Liberty Air 2. I was wondering if anyone could share their experiences or thoughts on these models.
I'm leaning towards the Liberty 2 Pro because I prefer the smaller size, but have read some bad things about their call quality, which is a concern for me. The Liberty Air 2 supposedly has better call quality but I've read about some issues with the sound.music quality. Any information or recommendations anyone can provide on these two models would be much appreciated. Or, if you think that both of these models are bad choices and know of a good alternative that isn't too much more expensive, please share. Thank you!

I got a pair of these several months ago and love them. $40. Waterproof enough to wear in the shower (which I regularly do). Have never fallen out, although when wearing for extended periods of time I give them a little tap occasionally. No one on the other end has ever complained about call quality - and I have used them in public - but my cell reception is the quality limit. Base is very high and sound isolation is as well, which I love but you may not. Only complaint is sound/signal does briefly drop out sometimes in very crowded/urban cities (idk enough about Bluetooth to guess why).

Just to complicate matters.. I recently went down this path and ended up with the Zolo Liberty earbuds for $80. Zolo is also an Anker brand and this Liberty is very similar to the Anker Soundcore ones. Honestly can't remember which feature made me pick these instead, it may be because they were cheaper and a little older on the market.
The Zolo Liberty doesn't have USB-C, it's old school micro-USB, so that's a small mark against it.

I would not use Wirecutter for recommendations like this, there are too many brands they don't know about or test. Skullcandy is, frankly, rubbish for that kind of money. SSK BT-03, QCY t5, Tronsmart Spunky Beat will all provide better sound quality at that price point. Here is a great list.

There are some sweet sales on the Jabra Elite 65t right now since they released a newer model. Some are refurbished, but I noticed no issues with mine. To my ears, comfort, sound, and functionality are all much better than the Ankers I tried and returned and the Airpods that now collect dust on my shelf.
