Milan after dark

I will be visiting Milan in December for work. I'll be pretty busy during the days, but should have my evenings free. This will be my first time in Milan -- help me make the most of it!
I'm looking more for things to do rather than things to see. I'd much rather have a chance to participate in some real life event/volunteering/experience than to see a cathedral/painting/sight. Of course, any suggestions for unique sights that may not be in most guidebooks are also welcome!
I should be free most days by about 3pm.
Any combination of the following would be ideal:
- Chance to meet locals who can speak english and are interested in meeting visitors
- Open at, or best seen at night
- Somewhat lesser known, likely not crowded
- Somehow involve food or wine
