Where can I find Aida fabric that is this color green?

There's an Etsy pattern that I love that is depicted on this green Aida cloth. I can't find that color of Aida on sale anywhere... is there some place I'm not looking?

Best answer: Aida cloth is, generally, very dye-able, though you'd have to do some mixing to get that green I think - this might be the closest from Rit's color mixing site?

Response by poster: Thanks brainmouse! Have you dyed Aida before? Is there much risk of bleeding onto the embroidery thread?

Best answer: Shouldn't be a problem, but make sure you spend a lot of time on the post-dying rinsing step. And drying it in the dryer might help fix the color even a little better though it will fray a bit around the edges (maybe a lingerie bag or something would help with that?

Best answer: I've dyed Aida before and I made sure to rinse cold and iron to dry several times. I didn't have any bleeding but my embroidery colors were dark/bold. If you were planning to have lighter embroidery I would do some test stitches in white and then wash again.

I would be sure to hem the edges before rinsing and add a tiny bit of starch to the final rinse.

Best answer: Looks like the Dark Maize available from Stitcher's Paradise.

Best answer: I dye aida all the time. I have never had an issue with bleeding. I always follow the directions for the dye (normally I just use cheap Rit) and I handwash the dyed piece before stitching.

Did you ask the Etsy seller about it?

Response by poster: Hey, just in case anyone ever has the same question -- I dyed the Aida and it turned out perfectly! It was super easy and fast. My tip would be to dye a larger portion of fabric than you're actually planning on using, because it's better to have too much than too little.
