Coney Island rock show where to stay question.

Going to a show at the Ford in September. Want to stay as close as possible, not break the bank, etc.
A quick scan of the area reveals few hotels. I've never AirBandBed before, but if you've done so in this area clue me in. I'm looking for two nights, I'd love to be able to walk back to HQ after the show. Basic instructions on how to use things like air bee and bee welcome.

Regarding staying in Coney Island, it's a small area that is full of mainly just local residents--not a lot of 'beach' tourist options. The F and the Q trains are walking distance to the venue, and would bring you closer into central Brooklyn where you are more likely to find hotels and other AirBnB's. You can also just Uber on out of there and head into town more. I really would suggest staying elsewhere especially if you are staying for a couple days and plan to spend time exploring--there's not much to do there beyond the overly crowded beach (aquarium maybe?), especially after Labor Day when the fun stuff on the boardwalk closes for the season.
