One Night in Vienna

I've get into Vienna for an overnight layover at 7pm. I've got a hotel in town, but looking for suggestions on a great restaurant and/or a cool bar.

Looks like I'll miss all the good museums, so this is really just for dinner/nightlife.

Restaurant: OK, this isn't a restaurant it's a stand on the street but -- Bitzinger! Try a kasekrainer or a bosna, then a large beer.

...then go wander around. Eventually you'll end up at Bitzinger again, so you can have another sausage and beer.

I almost didn't go to American Bar because the name was just so on the nose, but I'm glad I eventually did. Good drinks, friendly service, cool interior.

The bar at the Sofitel Stephansdom (many flights up) has a great view. I'd go there after dinner, though.

try ON Market
Or go to Museumsquartier, the heart of Boboville with lots of interesting restaurants and bars, I like Corbaci best
Or for a traditional Austrian dinner go to Plachutta or Huth
