Pardot? More like ParNot.

I am in marketing, and we've had Pardot and Salesforce for about a year. We're starting to do some lead nurture email campaigns using Pardot. We have many prospects in Pardot who aren't yet MQLs, so they are not yet in Salesforce. If one of these prospects contacts Sales by email or phone, Sales has no information on them. How do we bridge the gap?

Our new Director of Marketing is really ramping up our lead nurturing efforts. We've had Pardot for a year, but we weren't really using it to its full extent. This is my first experience with marketing automation, period; she's very experience but has never used Pardot.

Marketo apparently has something called Insights, which allows a window into Marketo via Salesforce. Is there something similar for Pardot? Our Pardot Advocate had no advice for us. We can't be the only company with this problem. Any ideas?

You need a new Advocate! Pardot is owned by Salesforce and there is a direct connector, so all leads from Pardot can get into Salesforce automatically.

That's not necessarily true actually especially if you haven't sync'd the two systems. In the past I've heard of marketing teams having to basically download all the unmatched leads from Pardot and then uploading them to Salesfoce to connect them more thoroughly. YMMV

Response by poster: To clarify: we have the Pardot-Salesforce connector, and they're syncing in near-real time. Any MQLs get pushed from Pardot to Salesforce. But if they're just a lead in Pardot and not an MQL, they won't be in Salesforce.

(But yes, we probably need a new advocate.)

A couple ideas:
1. Sync all Pardot leads into Salesforce but assign them to a marketing or inside sales person until they're MQL.
2. Give the salespeople Pardot accounts - then when someone gets in touch with them, they can look them up in that system.
