I tried playing an audio file in VLC and its all echoy and stuff. Theres no audio special FX installed on my computer and it sounds fine in Itunes. Any ideas?

Best answer: VLC has it's own on board effects. Look under the Window menu for Audio Effects. There's a spatializer that might be causing it.

The other possibility is that it's a 5.1 track (as opposed to stereo) so you're missing the center and rear channel audio.

Response by poster: It was the spatializer, thanks!
