Cross platform multiplayer games?

I have and iPhone. Friend has android. We want to play games with each other. We have words with friends and the Ilk, and trivia crack. Suggestions for others?
If you like Trivia Crack, you will LOVE QuizUp. Googling suggests you could easily play cross platform.

I can confirm that you can play QuizUp cross-platform. It's really fun!

Came here to say Spaceteam. It's an amazing cross-platform game, though you do have to be in the same room to play it (but as an added bonus, you can play with up to four people, or up to eight depending on your tolerance for bugginess and chaos).

Ingress is available for both Android and iOS.
Perks include having to get out and go places in your local community and beyond, to be able to play, and asynchronous play ("I just captured that portal on that big statue downtown, when you go by there on your way home from work, could you upgrade it for me?").
Downsides include the fact the advertiser support for the game is becoming more and more intrusive, it only comes in the massively mutiplayer flavor so if you were looking for a multiplayer game for just you and your friend without every other player on the planet being in on it it's not the game for you, and the fact that the team behind the game has had little, if any experience in game design or managing a large playerbase, and it really shows at times.

If you like boardgames, Small World 2 does cross-platform asynchronous multiplayer.
