Furniture consignment or resale in East Bay?

Before I can finally move from the 'burbs to Oakland, I need to shed some (all?) of my furniture. It's decent quality and was fairly pricey when initially purchased but none of it is antique or unique. (Think Restoration Hardware and Room and Board.) So I would like to sell it if possible. But my job and travel schedule mean that I really can't do it myself. Hopefully the hivemind can recommend someone that can help!

I would just use Craigslist, but if you want something a little more hands-off, you might check out Move Loot, a startup that will pick up furniture from you and store it until it's sold on consignment.

Best answer: Call consignment stores in your area. They'll come, assess, discuss the price (it's usually a 50/50 split) and then haul it away to their showroom.

Anything over 10% of the purchase price is fantastic for used furniture.

Best answer: Further east: ConsignmentPLUS in Walnut Creek, Home Consignment Center in Danville. We've bought furniture from the Danville one, no experience selling through them. From what I remember of walking around their showrooms, "solid quality but not particularly antique" was pretty much their niche.
