Getting around HK this week

Going to HK on Wednesday, and wondering how much getting around is affected by the situation in Central. More specifically, getting from the airport to hotel in Shatin, and getting from the hotel to City University (Run Run Shaw Creative Media Centre). Is there anything to be concerned about / that I should know before setting off? Many thanks.

Best answer: You'll be fine. Even when the protests were at their height you would've been fine. Was just there and Central itself was easy to get around. Airport to Shatin doesn't go anywhere near where the protests were, nor does Shatin to City U.

Best answer: Just a tip, there's a great public bus that goes directly to Shatin from the airport, takes about 45 minutes, and costs only around 23 HK dollars (you can use an Octopus card). it's the A41.

The bus won't go anywhere near central.

Best answer: You'll be fine. It's taking a bit longer to find a cab than it usually does but otherwise it's ok. I'd budget extra time if you want to go anywhere in Central or Mongkok and to expect less personal space than usual on the MTR but otherwise, traffic is largely operating normally.
