Recommendation for international stock broker?

HI, I'm looking for recommendations of a brokerage house that will allow me to buy international stocks directly in the local market, specifically, there're some HK stocks that I'm currently interested in.

I'm not looking to trade actively on the international market. The companies I'm interested in are those that I believe are solid buys and have good long-term potential. Thus, brokerage firms that offer low cost per trade but have a minimum transaction requirement per month or inaction fees are not what I'm interested in. I've talked to traditional brokerage houses like Schwab and Fidelity, but their fees are high. I also found some internet brokers such as MB Trading and OptionsHouse, but can't find much info about them. I would like to know if MeFites can share their personal experience with international trading firms and if anyone have recommendations.

Thanks a lot!

I've been happy with Interactive Brokers, but they do have a monthly minimum commission of $10.

Thirding Interactive.

I'm only chiming in to say they dropped the $10 monthly minimum commission for accounts over $100k or for those meeting a few other criteria - since you mention you don't want brokers with inactivity or minimum fees. Check their fees section on their website.

But for many reasons, Interactive will be by far your best bet investing abroad. No hand holding in customer service, but it doesn't sound like this would be important to you.
