Help me find songs similar to "Brill Bruisers."

I really love the recent New Pornographers' song "Brill Bruisers" (from the album of the same name). I'm not entirely sure what it is that appeals to me, but I find it very catchy and joyful. I think maybe I like the...wall of sound quality? I'm not even sure that's the right term. I like the repetition in the chorus and the oooo-oooooo-oooo, bo-ba-bo-ba-ba-ba nonsense. I'd like to find more music like this. What else should I try?

If you haven't already caught up on the New Pornographers' entire oeuvre, you should do so.

You might also like Thao and the Get Down Stay Down, especially "We Brave Bee Stings And All" (the album) -- no nonsense lyrics that I can think of, but several of the songs are super catchy and joyful for sure.

First things that come to mind for me are Race for the Prize by the Flaming Lips and "Wake Up" by Arcade Fire. But, yeah, this has a lot in common with other New Pornographers songs, too.

I don't know a whole lot about this specific style/era, but from the name and some of Carl Newman's comments, the song is a conscious throwback to Brill Building pop.

oh wow, I've heard this song several times recently on the radio and was sure it was Sam Roberts, that's how much it sounds like his music.

So, Sam Roberts. But really I'd say just take your pick of any mid-sized Canadian indie rock band of the moment because they all seem to be doing some variation of this noisey-chant thing.

Hey Rosetta
Said the Whale
Mother Mother
Wintersleep
etc.
