Special purpose slideshow software...

I'm looking for slideshow software for an art installation...

I need to find a piece of software (for Windows, if possible) that displays all the images in a directory. The catch is that it *must* refresh the directory every time it cycles through all the images. I've tried IrFanview, ACDSEE, artview, and a number of others, and none of them refresh their directory view when they get to the end of their slideshow.

I need the software to refresh/re-read the directory because there will be a webcam dropping images in there at random, and they should be included in the ever-lengthening slideshow.

Any suggestions?

Is it a simple auto slideshow. If so it would be really easy to do as a web based app. Simply use a bit of javascript to display each image in a folder, one after the other. When it reaches the end go back to the first image in the folder. Any images added should then appear.

Not sure how you could get it full screen though. Maybe hide the explorer bar etc. and make sure the images are full size according to the resolution of the screen you are using.

If you can't find a piece of software to do it give me a shout.

The Mac shareware app GraphicConverter does this. Not by default, but it's got a "reload file list before each loop" option in its preferences.

Response by poster: I appreciate the help, everyone- after weeks of searching, and a cue from AmbroseChapel's "reload file list" I found Kaptech Picture Slide Show, which is lightweight and does the job neatly.
