What's going on outside my office right now?

There's a huge protest happening somewhere in the vicinity of Park and 23rd.

Lots of angry chanting! We're all dying to knowwhat's going on! Last time it was Justin Bieber but this sounds political. Any ideas on how I can find out what the ruckus is?

Are you near the SUNY adminstrative offices in midtown? I believe there's a protest about hospital closings happening, people getting arrested, etc.

I'd also look at Gothamist (which crashes my office computer.)

Capital New York also covers NYC politics. Here's their article on the Long Island College Hospital closing protests.

Response by poster: I couldn't resist, I had to go down! It's Local 100, food service workers employed by Aramark at New York Life, who've been working without a contract since last November. There are only about 75 of them, but they are beautifully organized and really loud and proud. It was exciting!

For future reference, reddit.com/r/nyc is a great place to ask.
