La-la-la-la-what song is this?

EarwormFilter: '80s New Wave-ish song, male vocalist, with a part that goes "la-la-la-la la la, la la la-la-la-la la la." Alas, I don't know any of the other lyrics.

I believe I heard it at a store recently, and it wasn't the first time I'd heard it. It's probably some super popular song, and I will probably smack myself in the forehead from the obviousness when I figure out what it is.

Best answer: Could it be "Love Plus One" by Haircut 100?

"The Passenger" by Iggy Pop?

Or even "Don't you Forget About Me" By Simple Minds

You know, from The Breakfast Club.

Response by poster: THAT'S IT! Thank you!

So it's "ah-ah-ah-ah" rather than "la-la-la-la" which is probably the only reason Google didn't help me, right?

Oh wait, see that it's Haircut 100.

The fact that I knew that instantly based on your lyric sample is troubling.

Agreed. I'd have bet good money against this question being answered in two comments.

I'm amazed that juneperesque got it from "la la la la la la" when the song went "ah ah ah ah ah." That's pretty impressive.

See, it's not the "la" or the "ah," it's the rhythm of the hyphens. The song pretty clearly uses that rhythm, so when I read it aloud, it seemed obvious. The "la" may have even helped, since it's the first syllable to "love" when spoken aloud.
