Music Production Course? Conversational Spanish Course? (NYC)

Conversational Spanish summer coursel? Audio engineering summer course? NYC location.

Looking for two types of courses for a college kid home from the summer (yes we know it's late, but...)

Audio/Music Production: we've found Dubspot on W 14th street (perfect location) - any reviews of this? Any other schools? This would be to learn/work on Reason, probably. This individual is particularly interesting in hip-hop but that might not matter.

Spanish: not a college course for credit, but conversational (i.e., what's not the emphasis in his college Spanish literature courses).

These would have to be courses that haven't started yet, no credit, etc. Any suggestions welcome!

Best answer: Idlewild Books has two Spanish classes that might appeal, both of which start next week.

Best answer: My local Guitar Center has a free digital audio class every Saturday. I would call a local Guitar Center and ask if they have the same. (Their site is an abomination for finding this info, imo.) The class itself might be too basic for your needs, but I would bet that the person running it knows where you can go for more instruction.

I don't know about your area, but I teach private audio recording and production lessons, going to peoples houses and teaching them how to do things on their own system. It doesn't take very many lessons for someone who knows nothing about the software to be able to run it well enough to get creative, so the costs aren't that bad. You might want to look on Craigslist for someone who can do the same in your area.

Response by poster: Haven't been able to find music production course that works with the schedule. Private lessons are too isolating. Social aspect is what's wanted as much as learning. As for the language course, he's registered already, so thank you!!
