Classical music in Fassbinder's Maria Braun?

In Fassbinder's movie The Marriage of Maria Braun, what piece of classical music is plays in the beginning of the scene wherein Karl Oswald and Maria are dining, toward the end of the movie?

In the Criterion Collection DVD, the chapter is referred to as "Dinner with the Devil". To my rather uneducated ear, it sounds a lot like Bach's Brandenburg Concertos.

Response by poster: Okay, I figured out how to extract a sound bite from the DVD.
You can listen to the piece here.

It certainly sounds thematically related to the 2-part Invention in F (#8) which can be heard here (scroll down a bit). Dig around in the Well-Tempered Clavier a bit to see if anything there seems closer.
