Shared housing in DC

I'm an attorney in California, and literally have a last minute two-month project in downtown DC, that just came up. Other than Craigslist, any suggestions where I can find minimal shared housing for the two months, that's within walking distance of the metro? I'll only be there to sleep pretty much, so looking to pay under $550/month for each month. I am checking Craigslist, but wondered if there were any other places that would be wise to check. Thanks.
American university's off campus housing site is public. You could try the other universities too. The city paper used to have listings.

How about checking for motels that offer monthly rates? May not be the nicest digs, but as you say you'll pretty much only be there to sleep...

You should check the listings on Air B&B. I was looking at the offerings for myself the other day and I saw some places that prefer longer-term guests.

This is not realistic.

$550/mo will likely be very tough unless you're willing to stay pretty far outside the city or in really crummy conditions or in a really dodgy part of town. I was looking for the same thing in 2007 and ended up paying $800/mo out in silver spring. (I did turn down a tiny room in what was basically an AU sorority house that had about 1 bathroom for 6 girls - that may have been $500/mo).
Anyway, craigslist does seem to be the way to go in DC for the most part, We can help you with neighborhood/commute questions if you find some options.
