Sticky Messages in Android Inbox

POP email messages stuck in Android Inbox. Help!

I have three emails, which I have previously opened and read (either on the phone or on my computer), in the inbox of one of my two POP accounts on my Verizon HTC Incredible phone.

When I try to delete any one of them as an individual email, I get a message saying "Sorry! The application Mail (processcom.htc.android.mail) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." Plus, the button says "Force close".

If, from the list view, I try and delete all, via the usual means of Menu-->Delete All-->... None of them show up in the list to be deleted.

I have powered the phone down and restarted several times, all to no avail.

Anybody have thoughts on this?

What PSB said, with the additional caveat that in doing so you'll need to re-enter your account details to set the mailboxes back up afterwards.

This will delete all the mail, and all your mail settings, on your android phone.

Response by poster: Many thanks for the replies. The problem seemed to have solved itself before I could implement the suggestions, but now if it happens again I'll know what to do.
