Recycling dead computer hardware in Sydney, Australia

I've got a laptop which has completely died, and I'd like to dispose of it properly (including the power adaptor etc). I also have an extra laptop HDD that has failed recently.

I'm in Sydney - does anyone know of a hardware recycling scheme anywhere near? Ideally Eastern Suburbs or CBD, and ideally free, although I don't mind paying a nominal amount if the scheme's run as a not-for-profit or something. It looks like the Victorian Govt runs an e-waste recycling scheme but I can't find an equivalent in NSW.

(In checking on MeFi whether this question's been answered already, I've seen a few posts suggesting selling the different parts of the laptop on eBay etc. I don't want to do that, I'd rather just try and get the whole thing disposed of properly.)

Response by poster: Of course. I was looking in the wrong place. Thanks.

I'm not actually a resident of the City of Sydney council area, but my local council does the same thing... the next one for me is at the end of May, if anyone else is interested.

Damn, I missed this question. Marrickville Council just had their e-waste collection, on Feb 5th.
