How do I make a video autorun from a usb drive in windows 7?

My company has purchased a set of usb drives for a group of students who will be touring our facilities. We would like to pre-load a few videos of our production process that would auto pop-up (or at least a prompt) when they put the usb drive into their computer.

From what I've researched, it seems that devices using autorun, inf will not work on Windows 7. My next thought was to create a virtual cd on the usb drives or a U3 compliant USB drive. Does anyone know if this can be done using these generic USB drives?

How to Enable or Disable Autorun for Removable Media in Windows 7

Keep in mind that enabling this makes Windows more vulnerable to a security compromise than it already is.

I don't think this is possible without having access to their machines.

Response by poster: Thanks Blazecock, but I should have been more specific. We are planning on giving away these drives to the students as a small token. We'd like the videos to autoload when they plug them into their home computers.

Without access to each computer's registry, it's not going to be possible, I don't think.

If you really want to do it, U3 or something like it is the way to go here. In general it's considered bad form to do this sort of thing, it's seen as breaking security policy in many places. You're running your unvetted code on a system where the user hasn't given you explicit permission to do so. There's a reason Microsoft disables autorun on USB drives nowadays, you know?

It's a bad idea. I understand that your company means well, but autorun on USB keys is still a major source of problems. If anyone in the group of students knows a little bit about computer security and sees that your key is trying to sneak its way onto his/her computer, it will not reflect well on your company.
