What makeup books are makeup artists reading?

Makeup Artists: I want your beauty school syllabi. What books did your teachers assign you?
Yes, Corson's book!
Also:
The Technique of the Professional Makeup Artist by Vincent Kehoe
The Makeup Artist Handbook: Techniques for Film, Television, Photography, & Theatre by Gretchen Davis and Mindy Hall
Corson's book doesn't just apply to stage, Kehoe's book is a classic must-read, and the last book is handy to have if you wish to work with newer techniques developed for HD.
You might be surprised by the dearth of color in the Corson and Kehoe books, so I'll tell you in advance that many of the images are in black and white.
