CDBaby vs ReverbNation

I'm trying to help a friend research digital distribution options for his band's new cd release and it's all a bit overwhelming. Can anyone shed some light on the pros and cons of a couple of distributors, namely CDBaby and ReverbNation?

There have been some Ask MeFi questions in the past about this, but with the constant changes occurring in this field, I'd like to get some responses based on the most current info. This recent question was helpful but ReverbNation was not mentioned and that is one of the distributors I am looking at.

It looks like their fee schedules are a little different and while cost is one important factor, so are things like ease of use, quick distribution, extra tools, and quality/ease of service if questions or problems arise.

He already has the distribution of merch, including hard copy cds, taken care of. It's the downloads that need distribution now.

Best answer: My crew uses CDBaby for both physical and online distribution. The interface is really easy, customer service is accessible and responsive, and the checks come on time.

Best answer: I know you asked about those two, but if you're open to other options, too, definitely check out Bandcamp. I've not used it myself, but it seems to be really cool and picking up popularity (Sufjan Stevens, anyone?).

Response by poster: Thanks, I am open to other options, it's just so overwhelming I was trying to narrow it down to just a couple to pick from. I'll check out Bandcamp, if not just for the cool name.
