Six-shooter song.

Identify this song: Dub / TripHop feel. Possibly by DJ Shadow, more likely by someone else who sounds similar. Distinguishing feature: Snare hits come in groups of six, and after the sixth hit, there's the sound of a gun reloading. I don't think there were any vocals.

Response by poster: Nice try (and nice song), but it had a slower tempo than that.

Possibly a longshot but it's not MIA's Paper Planes is it?

Portishead Machine Gun?

Response by poster: Another good song. But no. The snare beats and gun-sounds were built into the song in a very subtle way - you only notice the gun reloading after a careful listen, then you count the snare beats, and then you think "Holy shit! That's smart!".

Surely not the instrumental of 'Bang Bang,' by Dr. Dre?

Response by poster: Nope. Too fast, too cheerful.

Unlikely that someone would remember Paper Planes as having no vocals.

I immediately thought of Tricky's "Strugglin'," but it doesn't exactly fit (the snare hits more than 6 times before the gun-reload sound).

Probably not, but could it be Tricky's "Strugglin'" from Maxinquaye?

Ha, jinx :)

I know this isn't the answer, but for some reason it made me think of The Automator - Buck Buck. Like I said, it doesn't fit all the criteria, but yeah.

Response by poster: Tricky's "Strugglin'" is getting very close - it isn't the song, but the song I'm trying to remember does have a very similar tempo and feel.
