Breakfast makes me feel bloated. What do you eat for breakfast that makes you feel full until lunch, and is healthy?
I have been eating eggs and toast for about a year and it makes me feel kind of sick in the gut. thanks. (ps-no meats please)

Healthy: Oatmeal (w/brown sugar), a piece of fruit, and a serving of nuts. This option is also vegan!
Less healthy, but even more filling: one of those sausage/egg/asiago bagel sandwiches from Au Bon Pain.

There is nothing I can eat that would make me not hunger for the period between lunch and breakfast (which for me is 7- 7:30 until 11:30 - noon.) Also, I don't like to eat a lot when I first wake up. Usually have yogurt or part of a smoothie before I leave the house, and then have some oatmeal or the rest of my smoothie around 10. Or some fruit around 10.
Grazing is a great way to avoid feeling bloated and to avoid feeling hungry. Of course, if you have a job where things happen suddenly that might prevent you from grazing for 5 or 7 hours, you end up being really starved and cranky.

If you're a "savory" person like I am (sweet breakfast cereals hold very little appeal for me), you might be interested in the following recipe (which I've been eating almost daily for the last several weeks):
Hot & Savory Oatmeal
• 1 cup instant oatmeal
• 1/4 cup shelled edamame beans (cooked)
• 2 tsp Sriracha Hot Sauce
• 1 tsp low sodium soy sauce
• 1/8 tsp toasted sesame oil
Directions: Cook the instant oatmeal until desired thickness is achieved, add other ingredients, stir well, and enjoy.
The spiciness factor has the added benefit of warming you up while your body acclimates to the cold morning air, which seems to help me move faster in the morning. Oatmeal itself will 'stick to your ribs' so to speak, leaving you feeling satisfied (but not bloated). After developing the above recipe, I'm finally able to enjoy oatmeal without having to suffer through those dreaded flavors (Peaches & Cream oatmeal? NEVER AGAIN.).
