Madrid this Friday and Saturday: Any way to get my boyfriend to a sports game?

My boyfriend and I are from San Francisco, spending this Friday and Saturday in Madrid at the end of a two-week trip for a wedding. We fly out Sunday morning. He's been nothing but patient with my interests the last week of the trip (museums, dancing), so I'd love to do something that's of more interest to him. He's a VERY active guy and into all types of sports, but unfortunately, it's raining where we are now (Sevilla).

Any suggestions on games, places to check out, ticket web sites, etc? Any links you can provide would be wonderful! Thanks!

For a one of the kind experience, my suggestion would be football (soccer).

Real Madrid are playing on Sporting Gijon on Sunday at 8pm, if you're still around. You can buy match tickets here (look for Match Tickets on the right hand side).

Atletico Madrid are playing Mallorca on Saturday at 6pm. You can buy match tickets here.

Looks like Real Madrid are away this weekend but the other Madrid team, Atletico, are at home against Mallorca.

This previously suggests tickets can be gotten at the ground on the day, but I would suggest that you talk to your hotel reception\concierge in Seville about this. They might know if there's a better way to get tickets in spain.

Real Madrid would have been the ideal choice for a footbal fan, cause of the squad they have, but Atletico haves some top players to in Forlan, Maxi Rodríguez, Reyes and Simão

MuffinMan - the Real Madrid / Gijon match is being played in Gijon, not Madrid.

Oh, but there is Real Madrid basketball team, if that's your thing.

Going to the Bernabeu (Madrid's stadium) would've been a perfect choice, unfortunately this weekend's match is played in Gijon, not Madrid. But you can always go to Atletico de Madrid's game at the Vicente Calderón stadium. It's a meh game, but i'm sure it will be fun and quite an experience for your boyfriend. You can buy tickets here

And if there's no game, there's a nice bar/restaurant in Bernabeu with a glass wall that overlooks the pitch.
