Itunes file sharing same IMAC?

Want to share my entire itunes library with another user on the same IMAC I think we used to share them all, but now not... I do almost all of the uploading of files but she cant see these When i go into system preferences>file sharing is on and pubic folders should share everything. Can someone help point me to the likely source of this problem: I suspect multiple libraries got created somehow: can these be merged?

Best answer: File Sharing in System Preferences is not necessary or related to what you're doing: that's for sharing your Mac's data on the network.

You need to keep everything inside the Shared folder (/Users/Shared) which is inside no user's home directory and so tied to no certain user. Then you need to log in as each user and configure their iTunes to use that directory.

Here's one of many guides to how to do this.

Response by poster: Apple says this: "Do not move the iTunes folder, the iTunes 4 Music Library file or the iTunes Library.xml file"
the others seem to suggest doing exactly that! Why the huge discrepancy????
