How do I restore the formatting in my blog?

I'm using the Hybrid-News blogger template for my blog. After doing some tweaking to the code, I lost the feature I loved the most - the condensed posts on the front page. Any ideas on how to get it back? (more in explaination).

Notice how in the template the stories are condensed to a few lines. Somehow, I lost that formatting, and my skills in CSS are elementary at best. Any idea how to get it back?
Thanks much, and if you like politics, feel free to comment on the site!

Response by poster: I did try that, as well as used a tool to compare code. The only differences in the code the program saw were the name differences from the test code and the live code (tested the layout on a old defunct blog of mine). I still can't find the discrepency in the code however =/

I don't think this is a css issue - in the template example the text just ends where it ends - are you using the MORE link when you post? You might find doing that will stop the text where MORE gets posted. That or try using the post Excerpt - and see if it will use that text.
