Music Scenes Are Like Coral Reefs.

QuoteFilter: "If a music scene can be identified as such, it means it is already dead."
Unfortunately I can't remember it verbatim:
Music scenes are like coral reefs. Once a scene is "visible" i.e. has made it far enough to be in music magazines, commercialised etc., this means it is dead. Like a coral reef, the creatures that built it have already moved on, only the corals are left and the ecosystem that feeds on them.
Did anybody come across this before and remembers who said it?

Response by poster: I'm sure I read it verbatim somewhere as attributed to someone, but thanks!
